I was born and raised in Santa Rosa New Mexico, a relatively small town. I was spoiled as a child due to the fact that I was the only child in the household, my mother is Theresa Salazar and my father is the late Ernest Ortega. While growing up, my family and friends helped me to develop a wide range of interests including outdoor activities, wildlife, and travel. The majority of the time during my youth and young adulthood was spent fishing, camping and spending a lot of time outdoors.
I attended Santa Rosa High School and graduated in 1997. I was active in MESA, Yearbook Staff, cheerleading and lots of other activities/programs. After graduating from Santa Rosa High School, I spent time working in a variety of different fields and have two wonderful children. My daughter, Nicolette attends UNM and is 21 and my son Aurelio is a Sophomore at Santa Rosa High School and is now 15.
I chose Luna Commuity College and it was great, it had plenty of beneficial factors including academic quality, affordability, and proximity. After Achieving my Associates Degree I then went on to New Mexico State University as a Business Major but my personal passions for Computers is now leading me towards a Computer and Web Design Specialist. NMSU was definitely the right choice for me, and my undergraduate experiences were fantastic. I really enjoyed being introduced to cultural and ethnic diversity, an intense level of academic and a lot of unfamiliar but friendly people.
I moved back to Santa Rosa New Mexico in November of 2011, from Pagosa Springs Colorado. I was a resident of Colorado for nearly two years and met great people who are now the greatest friends one could ever have. I was working as a Program Director/DJ at KSSR Radio and have been periodically since November 2006, I now continue to work on expanding my business and work Home Health Care, part-time. I was President of the Friends of Moise Memorial Library for over 15 years, I am now a board member of the Guadalupe County Development Corporation and a New Mexico Notary for 14 years. I continue to spend my personal time with my children and continue to further my education.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from you!!!
